The Dream Dinner That You Have Always Wanted

This last process is the fastest and easiest while resulting
in the best-tasting chestnuts. Its main ingredients are
flour, butter and egg, but there is no rolling and barely
any mixing. In casserole dish, mix beans, sugar and
ketchup.

Its four basic ingredients, each of which contributes an
essential flavor, are sugar, lime juice, chili (the small
thai or bird chilies are traditionally used here, but any
minced fresh chili will work) and nam pla, the fermented
fish sauce used throughout southeast asia. But they're
sturdy devils, so this is not that difficult. The result in
this case is bubbly cheese over quite "rare" eggs, with
just-cooked whites and very runny yolks.

Add onions and peppers. But the combination of sugar,
cumin, paprika and chili powder really does it for me.
Those reasons make the gas grill nearly ideal for a kind of
semismoked, slow-cooked barbecue-style pork shoulder.

If you think of it as an egg pizza with a crust made from
potatoes, you'll realize the extent to which it can be
varied. The keys to dishes that feature handfuls of dried
chilies are one, don't eat the chilies. If you're using
indirect heat, though, the source matters less.

Its name comes from hungarian gulyas, the word for a
stockman or herdsman ("gulya" means a herd of animals,
usually cows). And two, don't let any of them break open
while cooking; each broken one will intensify the heat
exponentially. In recent weeks I have found fresh crab meat
from maine for less than $20 a pound.

This is easiest if the meat is cut into chunks, say two
inches across. You can eliminate the skin; just start with
a couple of tablespoons of peanut or vegetable oil. A
handful of prunes partially dissolve during the cooking,
thickening the sauce, but remain sufficiently intact to
play off the meat's texture.

After this, the bread is removed from the oven but it's
still drying out. The crust will be quite hard but it will
soften somewhat as the moisture works it way out. Their
season will end with the new year, so now is their time.
Approximately 10 minutes after the 4th spray, the bread
should turn a light golden color.

Now that we know what goulash isn't, we can look for what
makes an authentic recipe. Such is the coloring and
flavoring power of long-cooked onions. When it does, give
it a final spray and turn off the oven, for a 10 minute or
longer, depending on the size of the loaves final cooking
time.
